Hello and welcome to my Blog!  My name is Michelle Rasmussen and I am a portrait photographer located in Tucson, Arizona.  I work with my business partner, David Harvey, and together we make up Rasmussen-Harvey Photography.  We have a small studio in Northwest Tucson and we also love to have sessions on location, either at your home or around town. Sneak Peek { Tucson Senior Photographer }

This is just a quick sneak peek of the mini session I did with Chelsea on our way out of Cali.  She and I have been planning and brainstorming about her senior photo session(s) for months now since she has been working as my assistant - HOORAY!  So, you will be seeing alot of Chelsea around here and just so you all know, you are gonna hear her name in the future too...she is über talented and cool and beautiful and smart and I just plain love her if you couldn't tell!  Heehee.  Anyhoo...here are just a couple for now:

 

Cousins { Tucson Childrens Photographer }

I was so happy when Mamma M called me a few months after her first session with me and said that she and her sister-in-law wanted to get some images of the 4 kids together for Grandma's Birthday...they have the most beautiful natural light and wooden floors in their home - add that together with beautiful children, and I am in heaven!  I love the images we captured in different combination's - it is great to see the images together and all of the kids personalities...thanks M & J, you kids are adorable!  ~M

The Green Loveseat { Tucson Children Photographer }

Okay, so I can't say I am the first photographer to do the old-furniture-in-nature-thing, but I can say as a mother myself and a lover-of-having-my-own-family-as-art hanging in my home, I would just adore to have a huge canvas of my family sitting on a super vintage-y old couch out in a field of dead grass hanging on my wall.  Yeah, I said dead grass, and if you have spent any time with me you have probably heard me talk about fields of dead grass.  I would probably opt for green ones with flowers, but those aren't as easy to come by here in the deserts of Tucson! 

When I met with Kari at her pre-session meeting and we were discussing/designing her session for her family, she said she knew of a "farm" that the family liked to walk to and visit the horses and chickens.  I was very excited at this idea, horses & chickens!  Hooray - to go somewhere new and go somewhere outdoors - somewhere and someplace that this family enjoys doing together.  So, I saw the opportunity to try the couch-in-nature thing, and when the couch-whisper-er lady at the consignment shop led me to my new love...the green love seat...the night before the session, the planets aligned and magic happened!  At least I think so!  :) Here is a sneak peek for Kari and Co. - thanks again for a great session - talk with you soon!  ~M

A few more for Shelbie { Tucson Maternity Photographer }

Here are a few more images of the most amazing Shelbie and baby G only one day from making his grand entrance.  Isn't Shelbie GORGEOUS?!??   I remember I could just FEEL how excited she was for G to finally get here already...and then he did...the very NEXT day!!!  Thanks again for being up for anything Shelbie!

One Day Away { Tucson Maternity Photographer }

Reasons why I love this image...because it's completely and so wonderfully "Shelbie"...because the Docs are the shoes she wore on her wedding day...because baby G was born the very next day...because Shelbie loves this image as much as I do...because she said that Brett would love that she is wearing the shoes...because she completely trusted my vision when I described it to her...because her baby bump is about as cute as she is...because being able to create, capture and share this image is why I love what I do.  YaY!  ~M

Little G's Family { Tucson Children Photographer }

Newborn Sneak Peek { Tucson Baby Potographer }

I just had to let you all know that we are alive and well here at Wondertime Photography and in the Rasmussen family!  Things are crazy busy around here, but that's how we like it!  We are so grateful for all that we have, especially our boys, Kai and Finn.  It was great fun watching their pre-school performances  this past week...3 and 4 year olds up on stage are such a hoot and so stinkin' adorable...speaking of adorable, here is a sneak peek of Baby "G" who arrived this spring.  We worked hard for this shot, but I think it was TOTALLY worth all the hard work, don't you think so?  G's mom totally rocks and cracks me up too...hope you are getting some rest with all those boys!  :)  *hugs*  ~M

In the Backyard { Tucson Children's Photographer }

Wondertime Photography got to hang out in the incredible backyard of the Rowland Family after the St. Patrick's Day Silly Goose Booth and even though I was officially "off the clock" I simply HAD to go and get my camera and photograph some of the kids who were still there.  As a side note, I have a really difficult time NOT shooting children if my camera is within reach, especially when the light is so beautiful and they are playing and laughing as well...and on top of that, add some really beautiful face painting to the picture...so I went and got my camera...and I'm really glad I did:

I'm still here...lots of exciting things going on! { Tucson Photographer }

Wow...time sure does fly by when you ARE NOT pregnant!  Heh. I was just talking to one of my most fabulously fun clients who is expecting Baby #3 in TWO weeks...and silly me mentioned that I couldn't believe how fast time is going by and she so kindly reminded me that this is SO not the case when you are 2 weeks away from your due date.  How quickly we forget...but then that is why I like maternity photos so much...so we can remember that most amazing and incredible time...and appreciate being able to sleep on your stomach and bend down to pick something up...or having your ribcage back again.  ;)  Here's a sneak peek for you guys...can't wait to show you all of them!  *hugs*  ~Michelle

Beautiful Children {Tucson Child Photographer}

I just wanted to share a couple of my favorite portraits from a recent session at home with 2 beautiful children.  I am so excited to see these two as canvas wall portraits...they are going to be gorgeous!  I am also so grateful that Ms. Vonnie at Gadabout SalonSpas sent this wonderful family my way - I just adore them all, and Vonnie for that matter, who happens to be the GREATEST esthetician and always makes my eyebrows look perfect (anyone else have a unibrow??? Shhhh...our little secret thanks to Vonnie!)  I digress...back to the kids...

 

The sweet little bow in her hair was designed by one of our clients with an adorable little girl herself - this is her HERE, so if you are interested in getting some adorable custom hair clips for babies - that actually stay in their hair and don't pull, let me know and I'll put you in touch with her.  Now for another future Calvin Klein model:
